Use Automatic Scan to scan your picture

1. On the toolbar, click Scan picture .
   
   
2. Under Method, select Automatic scan.

   Note   If you don't have a flatbed scanner, you won't see Method options. Skip to step 5.

3. If this is the first time you've used this scanner with Microsoft PhotoDraw, you need to define the scanner. You only need to do this once for each new device. Define a new scanner, digital camera, or video capture device
   
   
4. In the Resolution box, enter a resolution.

   If you want PhotoDraw to determine the best resolution, leave the setting on Auto.

   If you want a specific resolution, enter a number in the Resolution box.

   About choosing the right resolution

   To adjust the brightness or contrast, select the Auto brightness/contrast correction check box.

   To scan the picture without any correction, clear the Auto brightness/contrast correction check box.

5. Click Scan.
